This Agreement is entered between Author Template and any of their affiliates ("Our"), and the person or entity responsible for purchase. ( “Purchaser” / “you”) 

NOTICE: These Template Policies and Disclaimers are legally binding. It is Your responsibility to read these Template Policies and Disclaimers carefully prior to purchase, use, or access of any of Our digital products and/or services.

SQUARESPACE TEMPLATE POLICY

TEMPLATE TRANSFER

After purchasing a Squarespace Template, you will receive a link to accept the template as a new website. This new template will not be added to an existing website. The template will appear exactly as demonstrated in the linked product demo, but images will be replaced with placeholder visuals.

In order to transfer the website template to you, you need to provide us with an email address associated with your Squarespace account. You are solely responsible for providing a correct and accessible email address. We are not liable for delivery issues caused by incorrect contact details.

Our goal is to send your template within 48 hours, but on occasion this time frame may be extended due to weekends/holidays or unforeseen circumstances. If it has been longer than 48 hours, please contact us. Please note that we are not responsible for delays or interruptions caused by factors beyond our control.

TEMPLATE RESPONSIBILITY 

Once the template is added into your account, it is no longer ours and it is entirely your responsibility to add your own content and edit the site unless you purchased a 'Done For You' service. If you make any accidental changes to the template we cannot reverse them.

Please note: a template can be sent to you only once.

TRIAL SITE & ACTIVATION

Your template will be delivered into your account on a free trial. If you let this free trial expire, Squarespace will delete your website. If your website gets deleted, you will have to repurchase the template so we can send it again. To prevent your trial from running out, reach out to Squarespace support for a trial extension, or by upgrading your website to a paid plan.

Note: In order to publish your website, you will need a paid Squarespace Plan.

APPEARANCE, DESIGN, FUNCTIONALITY

Our Squarespace templates affect the appearance and design only. They do not alter the underlying functionality or features of the Squarespace platform, which remains fully governed by Squarespace’s own systems and capabilities.

If you require specific functionality beyond the standard Squarespace features, it is your responsibility to implement those separately, either through Squarespace’s built-in options or through third-party services.

COPYRIGHT & LICENSING

All template designs and accompanying files (excluding demo images) are the intellectual property of Author Template and are protected under copyright law.

By purchasing a template, you are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable, single-use licence to use the design for one (1) Squarespace website only. 

You may not share, resell, duplicate, redistribute, sublicense, or claim any part of the template or accompanying materials as your own.

The files and images provided are for your use only and must not be distributed to third parties under any circumstances.

Any photography provided with the template is for demonstration purposes only and copyrighted to its original creator. We hold no liability for any image licensing / copyright issues that may occur through your unlawful use of the supplied images.

Your completed website design may be used in our template showcase, sales pages or on our social media for demonstration and promotion purposes.

CLIENT & COMMERCIAL PROJECTS

If you are using a template as part of a client project or any paid engagement, you are not permitted to claim authorship or original design credit. In these cases, you must provide visible credit to Author Template in order to comply with the licence. And, you must include: "Template Design by Author Template" in the footer of the website that is live hyperlinked to our website.

TECHNICAL SUPPORT

Each template purchase includes 30 days of email-based support, beginning from the date your template is delivered. Within this period, you are entitled to help with issues relating to the template itself, the install/build, the provided files, and any issues that may arise with these. 

Requests for support must only be made by submitting a ticket. We aim to respond to your questions within 72 hours during weekdays, but please understand that this may take longer for more technical problems or during weekend/holidays.

Please note that our support service does not include help with general Squarespace issues and related questions, template modifications, coding modifications, or any problems that might arise from them, or any problems you are having with software. We also do not offer help with design strategy, custom modifications, server, hosting, or domain issues.

Squarespace may update its platform, features, or design system at any time. These changes are outside of our control, and please note that: we are not obligated to provide support for older templates that may no longer be compatible with newer versions of Squarespace. 

TUTORIALS & GUIDES

Any tutorials or guides are provided as complimentary bonus content and are not included or considered a part of your template purchase. These materials may be updated, archived, or removed at any time without notice, and are provided at our discretion.

Squarespace is an evolving platform, so occasionally some content may become outdated. At Author Template we will undertake reasonable efforts to keep our resources current. However, we cannot guarantee congruence with the latest version of Squarespace or its features.

After purchase you will receive a PDF file with an instant download link, which you will click and duplicate the template into your account.

TEMPLATE RESPONSIBILITY 

Once the template is added into your account, it is entirely your responsibility to add your own content and edit the template as you wish.

If you make any accidental changes or deletions to databases we cannot reverse them. You may be able to recover deleted databases by going to the trash and clicking the recover button. You are solely responsible for the changes you make to the template and its underlying databases. All efforts have been made to place warning placards on all databases that affect the functionality of the template.

We may occasionally update our Notion templates with new features. When we do so, we will notify you and you will have the option to download the new version of the template free of charge. In cases where the updates are minor we will provide details on how to integrate these updates to your existing template.
